Companion Services
Companion services consist of non-medical care, supervision and socialization activities provided to an adult on a one-on-one basis. A companion provider assists the individual with such tasks as laundry, shopping, and light housekeeping. No hands-on medical care is done.
Generally, companions provide these home care services:
- Conversation and companionship
- Meal preparation
- Help with morning and bedtime rituals
- Medication reminders
- Errand services
- Grocery shopping
- Stimulate mental awareness, reminisce about the past, help with reading
- Answering the door
- Assistance with caring for pets and plants
- House sitting
